Director Luca Guadagnino originally asked Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to record a Kate Bush cover for the film, but they chose to write "(You Made It Feel Like) Home" instead. Reznor's vocal is a rough demo vocal that was originally intended to be redone by a guest vocalist.[1]
The soundtrack's For Your Consideration sampler contains a different version of the song, which appears in the film. It has a completely different vocal take and omits the second verse.
