: I think that the hidden text from ''Huck Finn'' and ''Slaughterhouse-Five'', along with every Year Zero related website and Year Zero itself, are all supposed to be sent back from the future. I mean, Eva claims to have sent music from someone who's "alive and fucking kicking." Could this be Trent? And although the literary passages hold some vague relevance to the Year Zero theme, they don't have the glaringly obvious Sci-Fi Horror punch that most of the other content has. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that (in the fictional universe of Year Zero) everything we've been looking at was sent back through time by these "pilgrims." That might also serve to account for the grainy, scrambled background images and all the reflected text. Just a thought. [[User:Wesker|Wesker]]
As i read the conversation when asked what the key text is banned books are the answer. supposing that the information had to be encrypted to be sent back this could explain why everything sent by the pilgrims includes fragments of key text whitch have "bled" onto the page. however it is not totally out of the question that what was/is encrypted is not what we see i.e. the decryption using the key text has not yet been done. it seems very strange that some form of decryption was done in transit. I've played around trying to use standard types of book cyphers on the text on the pages but most of the results seem to turn out as amusing giberish although this might be because it's hard for me to define exactly where a key text begins and ends. anyone else played with this? There is a ghost of the text behind the actual text in the chat window. The thing is, after Miguel asks what the key text is, some of it stops reflecting what was actually typed, and starts saying "w8ting, w8ting 4 what?" and "thE HOUR IS AT HAND" respectively. Also, the only time anything is actually typed by Carolina is when Eva tell her to "flood it" (I put it in quotation marks, because I'm unsure what it means) about 5 minutes in. She types what her bug has been putting up.
"flood it" must refer to the data being sent as in push as much as you can through the pipe. also "thE HOUR IS AT HAND" and "w8ting, w8ting 4 what?" remind me of the way irc topics or auto messages intrude into conversation [[User:Ylbissop|ylbissop]] 20:02, 7 May 2007 (PDT)

Perhaps the numbers serve a double purpose -- a categorization system created in "real life" for the individuals who are creating the Year Zero story, and a system utilized in the Year Zero world by the Solutions Backwards Initiative. Different numbers could correspond to different pieces of data, different messages, where they were sent to in the past, et cetera. This makes more sense to me as far as mining banned books and songs. It seems that the numbers are there to denote items sent from the Solutions Backwards Initiative. Might be worth noting (as further proof to the future websites being sent back theory) that in the Halo 2 ARG, I Love Bees the same distortion occured on its webpages. ::Knowing a wee bit about quantum computing (I'm a comp-sci student going into my 4th year, most of my classes touch on stuff currently being researched), I can understand the concept behind it a bit. It's plausable they sent it all in at the same time, but the streams are being recieved at different times in -15. :Thats my bad. But if you look at the scrambled words in the background images that create the words from banned text that we've found. I think the same can be done with the pieces of images that are back there in the same way. I think theres even more there that were not seeing. Right now I'm attempting it on the SBI un-passworded site. Another is here http://anotherversionofthetruth.com/opal.htm at the bottom of the page a large purple image at the bottom matches some other things on the site. :::Well someone found Yea ok that the background 's alot of pictures and alot of junk, question is made up of multipule images. The easiest thing to how do is look at yu tell the picture parts from the indvidual pages, and download junk? Also alot of it looks alot like the images themselves writing and overlay themthere really arnt pictures just alot of.... Your right that there is some static? (I can't really think of anything else to call all the "glitchs"so static" sounds fine)What if all the back grounds are just static from traviling back? I'm not sure if you will, but look closer it easy to tell which find something good if not well idk. my vote is which. It only makes sense that if the banned book references are scrambled thoughout static is the page then why wouldn't bleed referred to in the images be irc conversation we have identified the same. Don't forget to sign your post with 4 ~key text it's unlikly in my opinion that anything else would be there what would be the justification for anything else being there?
