In February of 2010, Maandig went into the studio with [[Nine Inch Nails]] founder [[Trent Reznor]] and his longtime collaborator [[Atticus Ross]] to begin recording songs for a new music project, How To Destroy Angels, and over the next few months recorded the songs that formed their self-titled debut EP, ''[[How To Destroy Angels (album)|How To Destroy Angels]]''. Since then, the band have released a cover of Bryan Ferry's "[[Is Your Love Strong Enough?]]" for 2011's ''[[The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Soundtrack]]'' and their second EP, ''[[An Omen EP]]'' and first album, ''[[Welcome Oblivion (album)|Welcome Oblivion]]''.
Maandig has made guest appearances with Nine Inch Nails on the [[NIN 2013-2014]] and [[Cold And Black And Infinite Tour|Cold And Black And Infinite]] tours, performing How To Destroy Angels material. She later made guest appearances on the tracks "[[She's Gone Away]]" and "[[Shit Mirror]]". In 2017, she appeared as part of Nine Inch Nails (in this case consisting of Trent Reznor, [[Robin Finck]], Maandig, Atticus Ross, [[Alessandro Cortini]] and Joey Castillo of [[Queens Of The Stone Age]]) in an episode of the reboot of ''Twin Peaks''. Maandig appeared with Reznor and Ross on a cover of [[David Bowie]]'s "[[Fashion]]" for [[2021/01/09_Los_Angeles,_CA|A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day!]] in 2021. Maandig, along with her [[Trent Reznor|husband]], currently resides in Beverly Hills, California with their children and dogs.
