He is also known for his own illustration work. Beginning in 2007, he has posted artwork and released limited edition signed and numbered prints on his Sketchblog and portfolio. He was also briefly a member of How To Destroy Angels, contributing mainly as a visual rather than musical member. In concert, he contributed synthesizers, vocals and visual effects. He also helped to design the [[Beats Music]] streaming audio service, serving as a creative director alongside Reznor, who was then chief creative officer.
In 2018, he announced that he would be writing a comic book series called ''High Level''. In a February 2020 Reddit AMA session, a fan asked about Sheridan's decision to part ways with the NIN camp. Sheridan stated that a number of things were happening in his personal life (divorce, midlife crisis, etc.) that were hampering his involvement, and that he had to leave Los Angeles to get into a better headspace and have personal growth.
