Talk:The Ritual
Could the lyric "calling haves and have nots" be a reference to the 'Captial G' "I'm sick of hearing about the haves and the have nots"?
- Probably not. "Haves and have nots" is a pretty common phrase.--leo3375 15:48, 2 June 2008 (PDT)
Speaking of lyrics- why is only one line up? I'm listening to the song right now... theres a bit more than "The Writings on the wall." in there. --d
Also, on his homepage it says: "…enough already. Stop reading and dance. (The Dead Emcee Scrolls available in bookstores near you;)" Maybe we should also include this plus an inofficial version of the full lyrics (e.g. this version: http://lyrics.wikia.com/Gracenote:Saul_Williams:The_Ritual ) RickLip
- I read in an interview that when Trent sent him the demo for The Ritual he stayed up dancing all night. I also read that the lyrics are simply just a list of maxims, so instead of writing out the list he's used the last page of lyrics to advertise his book. I wouldn't read much further than that into it. It's pretty simple. --N0N_3NT1TY
