== Quantum Computing Experiments ==

A group of researchers in an organization named [[Secure Broadcast Informatics]] has obtained a government grant to preform Quantum Mechanics experiments for data transmission, encryption, authentication and verification. [http://www.securebroadcastinformatics.com/]

This organization doubles as another organization, [[Solutions Backwards Initiative]], which is dedicated to fixing the modern day (2022/Year Zero) by informing the past of the attrocities they are witness to daily. The group used their experiments in Quantum Mechanics to transmit a large ammount of data through time to 2007 in "Pilgrim Streams" which usually consist of websites including video and music. == Banned Media ==

The world governments in Year Zero are highly religious and as such many major works in several media has been banned due to content that for whatever reason is deemed inapproprate and subversive. Solutions Backards Initative sent back a large selection of the banned media catalogue which is found scrambled in the background and images of the websites. The Year Zero album is one of the selected media which was sent.

The "Pilgrim Streams" are normally organized with a hidden number. All the numbers so far have been in the format "24.x.y". While several theories have been posited as to their significance, no definite conclusion on their meaning has been reached.

== Environmental Problems ==
* The 'Red Tide' has been greatly affecting areas of the U.S. it never has before (as far north as Boston), due to global warming.  This phenomenon is called an algal bloom, it causes the water to become infested with algae turning it different colors (in the World of Year Zero so far it has been red). * Endangered species are now hunted for sport and for the title of 'Omega Man'.  An Omega Man referrers to someone who has killed the last of a species.  Currently as of Feb 10th, there is an Omega Man advertisement for the Black Bear. * According to the statements made by [[Angry_Sniper|Angry Sniper]], baseball is able to be played in [[Baseball_in_February|February]].  In present day this couldn't happen because it would be too cold, leading to the conclusion that global warming has heated up one of the coldest months of the year to the point where baseball can be enjoyed outside. == Parepin ==

After the 2009 attacks on Los Angeles and Anaheim (another city in California), the Government issued [[Parepin]] into the drinking water of Orlando, Florida.  It was meant to protect against biological attacks  by bootstrapping the immune system.  But information on [[I_am_trying_to_believe|iamtryingtobelieve.com]] has stated that parepin is meant to change seritonin and dopamine levels to keep people sedated and easy to manipulate.

== Opal ==
[[Opal]]'s official name is hycephamitamyn. It has replaced Cocaine as the lead drug in America, this is due to [[Year_Zero_Research/Global_Warming|global warming]] in that coca leaves rot before they can be dried and processed.  Since the replacement of Cocaine with Opal, Cocaine is no longer needed causing economic strife in South American countries. Opal is manufactured by the [[Cedocore]] company, the company that made Parepin.

== The Presence ==

The Presence is a ghostly arm reaching down from the sky. It was initially thought to be [[Drugs in Year Zero|drug]]-related hallucination, but this was debunked by people who claim to have seen or been affected by The Presence, but who are not under the effects of Opal or Parepin.
