Boys Noize
Alexander Ridha (born August 22, 1982), better known by his stage name Boys Noize, is a German-Iraqi electronic music record producer, songwriter and DJ known for collaborations with artists including A$AP Rocky, Tommy Cash, and Frank Ocean, and remixes of artists including Daft Punk, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Snoop Dogg, and Depeche Mode. He has been named one of the "Top 10 DJs Who Rule The World" by Rolling Stone, elected "Best Electronic Act" by Beatport three years in a row, and was awarded the Independent Music Award in 2010. His music is known to merge various styles, with influences of hip-hop and disco roots as well as heavy noise and electro house sounds.
Collaborations with Reznor/Ross and NIN
According to Boys Noize, he and Trent Reznor worked on a secret project that failed to materialize. [1]
Years later, in 2024, near the end of production on the Challengers score, Reznor approached him with an idea to release it as a continuous dance mix. Boys Noize worked for weeks on the mix and remixes of the songs, which were released as Challengers [MIXED] by Boys Noize. [2]
The following year, he was announced as the opening act for the Peel It Back Tour. The end of his opening set on a side stage transitioned directly into Reznor's Act One opening piano song on the B-stage. Boys Noize kicked off the third act already on the B-stage, while Reznor and Atticus Ross transitioned from the main stage to join him. Together, they performed a short set of EDM-styled remixes of NIN songs. Boys Noize remained on the B-stage, playing an extended outro of the last song (typically "Came Back Haunted"), while Reznor and Ross transitioned back to the main stage. Other songs reworked and performed with Boys Noize were: "Only", "Vessel", "The Warning", "Branches/Bones", "She's Gone Away", "Love Is Not Enough", "Me, I'm Not", "Sin", "I Do Not Want This", and How To Destroy Angels' "Parasite".
Boys Noize revealed in a tweet that he would be involved with NIN on the Tron: Ares soundtrack. [3]
