Tool is an alternative metal band, formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. Due to their long songs with complex song structures, they are considered as Progressive metal (or Art Rock).
Nine Inch Nails have played festivals with Tool, such as Pukkelpop and the Independent Days Festival. Trent Reznor, Danny Lohner and Charlie Clouser also collaborated with singer Maynard James Keenan on the Tapeworm project.
