A common tactic in totalitarian governments is to keep mass media as active as possible. Given that baseball is already important to Americans, is it too far a stretch to think that rather than shifting the season, the government simply extended it? After all, when people have something to do, they're more distracted from the situation at hand. Why have a revolution, or an anti-government rally, when you could see the Cubs play the Cardinals? Especially if you're on Parepin. This could also cause some of the Angry Sniper's words to be taken two ways. Namely, the banner he flies over the stadium, which reads, "this is a bomb, fuckheads. Wake the fuck up." It may be possible to assume that he wants the populace to "wake up" to the fact that they are being lulled into complacency.

Assuming that we know that the year is indeed 2022, then www.churchofplano.com shows that the months of the year have not shifted in the transition to year 0 dating. Churchofplano indicates that it is Sunday, February 13. This is correct for the 2022 calendar. You can use a | perpetual calendar to figure this out.--Shadowplay 19:07, 17 February 2007 (PST)
yeah, there are other things that match between dates that make the "date shifting" hypothesis really not play out at all. Not to mention, why change when your year starts, but leave the month names the same. Ledgekindred 22:59, 17 February 2007 (PST)

Why are the fans so interested in this baseball game when interest in the Super Bowl is waning?
- Probably has something to do with how football is violent while baseball is more mellow.
