"Closer" (Thrust)
where'd you get the info about the MP3 spread around by the French band? you need to post sources for this kind of information, or it has to be erased from the wiki. - seasonsinthesky 14:37, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
My source is ... me, I am french I heard it at their gig, i claimed the song for years, i obtained the mp3 from them. I tought first it was their own mix. Now it's a fact Paul de Carli is french, he's credited on Sin's 2002 remix album and on the closer EP and you can recognize of course the part of his mix in the EP.
Can't find back links but this post of mine is a few days before the official playlist: http://www.echoingthesound.org/phpbbx/viewtopic.php?p=1239418#1239418
Also the track was hosted for 2004 on digital-sin.net, unfortunaly it's now a blog and webarchive refuse to show the exclusive mixes part.
On this 2003 page http://ninfrance.free.fr/fanclub/030621SinBlackDog/index.html you can actually ... see me asking them AGAIN this mix during their gig (this night i had a exclusive mix on cd and later the precious mail with the mp3)
On this 2004 message http://fr.groups.yahoo.com/group/ninfr/message/67172 I write I just added the mix on the disco on my nin site, and we actually share it on our soulseek session.
But if you want you can contact http://www.facebook.com/vincebrunello he's the source close to Paul for the mix, and the Sin's leader, if you need confirmation ?
PS: I believe I choose the 'thrust' name of the mix because that was the name included inside the ID3tag
- well, that definitely was around prior to when TR posted it on remix.nin.com in 2008. i think we should keep a note of this on the remix, but we don't need a lot of details — it's sufficient enough to say "the remix was circulated prior to Reznor posting it." - seasonsinthesky 00:23, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- Seeing as the Sin single that ninjaw is referring to is a bootleg, I think for now the addition should be removed until we have something concrete. It is a very rare remix, only being on one promo prior to remix.nin, so info may be scarce, but it's good to try and maintain only information we can be sure is correct on the wiki sheepdean Try to speak as clearly as you can 00:27, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- wait, what? Sin is a french band. their connection to Paul De Carli got them the remix. - seasonsinthesky 01:02, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
