The Voodoo Festival was moved to Memphis in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina left New Orleans in ruin. Nine Inch Nails saw that they had a free day on their touring schedule and decided to play both the Memphis Voodoo Festival and the New Orleans Voodoo Festival, which was quickly put together the day before as primarily a thank-you to rescue and relief workers.
