Trent Reznor stated on nin.com/access that "Adrift And At Peace" is the conclusion to "La Mer." The song was also sampled by Coil with Black Sun Productions on a remix entitled "Hello Victim! Awake! The Victim Gets Back His Freedom." from the album The Plastic Spider Thing: Coil Remixed.

"Adrift And At Peace" was performed with a string quartet at the 2006 Bridge School Benefit.
On the With Teeth: Summer Amphitheater Tour and Performance 2007, Reznor played a piano-only version of "La Mer," including an initial improvisation, before playing "Into the Void," this performance has been confused with "Adrift And At Peace."
