In early 1990, Nine Inch Nails was the opening act on The Jesus and Mary Chain's Automatic Tour. The tour is part of the Pretty Hate Machine Tour series.

- Richard Patrick: Guitar, backing vocals
- Trent Reznor: Vocals, guitar
- Chris Vrenna: Drums
Stage Set-Up
As these shows were opening sets, the stage was as basic as possible. In order to leave room for The Jesus and Mary Chain's gear in the background, NIN's drum kit was stage right of Reznor and the keyboard was stage left of Patrick.
