Versions
22 Ghosts III
This is the only known version. Low Buchla synth sounds accompanied by bright piano begin the song. Pulsing synths and a dulcimer join, creating a light mood. Hard drums enter, and the song begins to "deconstruct," as the piano hits out-of-key notes and instruments start and stop playing abruptly. Drums and other percussion play with piano during a brief interlude. All instruments come together to form a more structured section of the song. It ends with the piano alone.
Live
"22 Ghosts III" has never been played live.
Differences in Artwork
It should be noted that much of the artwork embedded in the files of the official download of Ghosts I–IV from nin.com are not just cropped versions of the photographs in the PDF. In this case, the two photographs are completely different.
