Kollaps was an industrial band formed in mid-1987 [1] as a side project of the Exotic Birds, as a way for them to experiment with industrial music that wouldn't fit with the Exotic Birds' musical aesthetic. They often billed themselves as "Cleveland's answer to Skinny Puppy". [2] by Andy Kubiszewski, Doug Beck, Richard Carpenter (all also in Exotic Birds, another early band Trent Reznor was in), and others.
