"Purest Feeling" is an unreleased track demoed for Nine Inch Nails' first album, Pretty Hate Machine, and also the seventh track on the bootleg album Purest Feeling.

Demo version leaked in 2025. It has a somewhat high-sheen, 80s pop sound that is not characteristic of NIN. Saxophones features on the choruses, and a dialog sample runs through the background of the track, taken from an episode of Too Close For Comfort.[1]

Version from the Purest Feeling bootleg. Similar in sound to the demo, and includes the same dialog sample. The choruses have a different, clearer vocal sound than the verses. There are several slight lyrical differences.

Live

"Purest Feeling" was rehearsed for live performance at the first NIN live shows, as heard on the Purest Feeling rehearsal recording. It was cut from the set when opening for Skinny Puppy, due to time constraints, but it is unknown if it was possibly performed at the two dates when NIN had a longer time slot to fill.
