The Black Ghiandola is a post-apocalyptic zombie horror short film, written by and starring 16-year old cancer patient Anthony Conti, and produced by the Make a Film Foundation. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross provided the soundtrack for the film.
Make a Film Foundation grants film wishes to children and teenagers who have serious or life-threatening medical conditions helping them to create short film legacies by teaming them with noted actors, writers and directors. All cast and crew participate on a volunteer basis.
The film stars Hollywood A-listers, including J.K. Simmons, Laura Dern, David Lynch, Richard Chamberlain, and Johnny Depp. It was co-written by Scott Kosar and Wash Westmoreland, and directed by Catherine Hardwicke, Theodore Melfi, and Sam Raimi.
