This is the only version available. This instrumental track begins with soft synths and looping piano chords. A high-pitched melody played on a dampened and/or detuned piano enters over the top. After several measures, this melody then shifts down one octave. After several more measures, synth bass comes in. A quick but disorienting pan to the left happens at around the two minute mark. As the song nears its end, the synth bass disappears and a different high-pitched melody comes in. This melody closes out the song, isolated and slowing down slightly.

Adrift And At Peace

This is the only version available. This instrumental track begins with soft synths and looping piano chords. A high-pitched melody played on a dampened and/or detuned piano enters over the top. After several measures, this melody then shifts down one octave. After several more measures, synth bass comes in. A quick but disorienting pan to the left happens at around the two minute mark. As the song nears its end, the synth bass disappears and a different high-pitched melody comes in. This melody closes out the song, isolated and slowing down slightly.

Live

"Adrift And At Peace" was performed with a string quartet at the 2006 Bridge School Benefit.

On the With Teeth: Summer Amphitheater Tour and Performance 2007, Reznor played a piano-only version of "La Mer," including an initial improvisation, before playing "Into the Void," this performance has been confused with "Adrift And At Peace."
