After serving as an opening act for both The Jesus and Mary Chain and Peter Murphy, Nine Inch Nails embarked on their first major headlining tour in the summer of 1990. The tour is part of the Pretty Hate Machine Tour series. Opening acts for this tour were Cold Front, Meat Beat Manifesto, Pure, Sky Cries Mary, and Supreme Love Gods.

Stage Set-Up
This setup for this tour was minimal, with basic lighting and fog machines. There were also strands of recording tape that hung down at the front of the stage, recalling the music video for "Head Like A Hole", and three large ropes that Reznor would occasionally swing from during the set.
