Podcasts are audio recording, often in the form of talk radio, that are distributed digitally over multiple episodes. The name is a combination of the word "broadcast" and "pod", from the Apple iPod that was popular when the genre was formed. However, podcasts have evolved since then to move beyond the reach of iTunes. Today anybody can create their own podcast, and that has lead to several podcasts about Nine Inch Nails.
