The song begins with scratching noises and ambient sounds layered together. A . underwater-like melody begins to play, with Trent Reznor whispering above them. The melody stops, and tone of the song shifts, becoming darker, as the song gradually builds to its climax. A looped guitar and drum stream is played throughout with electronic noises moving on top. Finally, the guitars come in, and Trent Reznor yells out the chorus, ending the song's climax.
