:::"Compulsory registration raises the barrier to entry for prospective editors." No. If someone really feels strongly enough to contribute, then they shouldn't be bothered by registering. "For me, the biggest benefit is not having to remember another username and password." Every single internet browser I've ever used allows for username and password saving. Also, you can enable cookies so you're automatically logged in when you visit the site. This account will be deleted in five days' time. If you require further information, please contact one of the administrators. -Heroicraptor 00:02, 19 February 2007 (PST)

::::I have frequently chosen not to edit wiki websites because they required registering. I use at least three different PCs — synchronising password databases across those is not trivial. This account has not been used for any ill purpose. It is only that I declared it a shared account that this discussion is even taking place. I can't help drawing parallels between the the threat of deleting this account and the themes of Year Zero. —Nothing 04:55, 19 February 2007 (PST)
