Cool Down Daddy
Cool Down Daddy was a band Trent Reznor was in for a brief time in 1988, before Nine Inch Nails. The band consisted of Bruce Somers on drums (also producer for Slam Bamboo), Don Cook on guitar, Marty Step on keyboards (also in Exotic Birds), Sean Beavan on vocals and bass (worked on many Nine Inch Nails releases and related things, including Broken, Fixed, The Downward Spiral, Closer To God, Further Down The Spiral, Slam Bamboo, and Hanson: The Movie), and Trent Reznor on keyboards.
Cool Down Daddy had no releases but were featured on the various artists compilation Exhibit C: Ohio's Undercurrent, put out by Play Records in 1988. The song featured on the compilation is "Sometimes She Smiles". The song, as well as another song by Cool Down Daddy, "Nowhere" had music videos made.[1][2] Also featured on Exhibit C: Ohio's Undercurrent are: Paul Sanderson (backed by three Exotic Birds; Mark Best, Frank Vale, and Doug Beck), The Act (Richard Patrick on vocals and guitar with Frank Vale on keyboards and backing vocals), and Serious Nature (Kevin Valentine producing, who played drums and percussion in The Innocent with Trent Reznor).
