Te Maldigo
"Te Maldigo" is a song originally written by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Omar Apollo for the movie Queer. It was intended as a torch song for Apollo's character in the movie to sing in a bar. However, the scene was cut during the editing process.[1] Since the song no longer appeared in the move, it was not included in the score; however, Apollo released the song separately as a digital single on November 21, 2024.

Production
Luca Guadagnino cast Apollo in the film with the intention of singing the song, so Reznor and Ross had written the framework of the song in English, before asking Apollo to come to their studio to work on and record the song. Within a few hours, he had written, contributed, and reconfigured things in the song (including his team engineering and translating the song into Spanish) and really honed in what he knew he wanted the song to be, impressing Reznor.[2]
After cutting the song from the film, Guadagnino suggested reworking it to be the end credits song. Reznor, however, felt that it tonally didn't fit what the end credits should make the audience feel, and that led to Reznor and Ross composing a new song for the end credits, which became Vaster Than Empires.

Lyrics
