*The fortress Reznors are enemy mid-bosses (the fire-breathing dinosaurs) that debuted in various incarnations and versions of 1991's ''Super Mario WorldLand'' are called Reznors . Dayv Brooks was an employee of Nintendo of America from 1988-1993, and have been confirmed one of his jobs was giving English names to the Super Mario game characters during the Japanese to be English localization process. He named most of the Koopalings after rock musicians, as well as naming Reznors after TrentReznor.[httphttps://www.mariowiki.com/Dayvv_Brooks] Reznors later appeared in the real world in the LEGO Super Mario "Reznor]Knockdown" expansion set.
*The first person shooter ''SiN'' contains a reference to "[[Reptile]]" in the form of a bulletin board with the words "she has the blood of reptile underneath her skin" on it. The game title may also be a reference to "[[Sin (song)|Sin]]".
*The campaign trailer for ''Gears 5'' debuted at Gamescom 2019 to the music of "Head Like A Hole".
*The game ''Divinity: Original Sin'' features an implement referred to as Nine Inch Nails. The item's description reads, "A handful of sharp iron nails. Closer examination reveals it would be a sin to waste them." If you make them into a nail bomb and throw it, the screen reads, "Looks like you're on a downward spiral..."
*The game ''Lost Records: Bloom & Rage'' contains a reference to "Closer", in the form of graffiti that says, "you get me closer to God."
